NEWS RELEASE

Provincial and Territorial Health Ministers unanimously agreed to the following:

       
  1. Immediate unconditional reinstatement of the CHST to the 1994-95 level of funding

  2. An appropriate CHST escalator    

     

       
    3.    
  3. To continue to explore innovation and adaptation deemed necessary to ensure the sustainability of a quality publicly funded health care system in Canada    

     

       
    4.    
  4. The Ministers reviewed a draft of the cost drivers report and following further revisions will forward the report to Premiers.
